Aging letters
lay piled together,
Written, rejected
one after the other,

As days
turned to nights
weeks to months,
New years came
and then ran out
of Decembers,

Varying moods
colouring emotions
Sequentially added
each time
the pen touched
a new sheet
of paper,

The dustbin
inspite of its
voracious appetite,
Remained empty
but uncomplaining,
Knowing the reason
why none had ever
been crumpled,

For variations apart
from the first
to the last,
Every page inked
always contained,
Three invaluable
Appearing on each
in common.
