so often
my own reflections
seem distorted to me,

like inked words
scriblled on blank sheets
smudged by
random raindrops,

like restless reflections
on the water surface
unsure of whether
the disturbances emanate
from within or without,

like the repeated melodies
whispered by the breeze
hummed like an additiction
but remaining meaningless
without any words,

like birds fluttering through
constant windy weather
trying to balance
but unable to find
their own eagle stance,

and often these distortions
are just a result of
the frost on the glass,

but once in a while
by the mistiness
on the lens itself.
