life is
full of holes,
as is
the love you hold,
said my sourdough
loaf to me,

be crisp
in that
external crust,
that holds
the gentle
tenderness within,

these intricate tunnels
are not
the work,
of a commercial
quick rise
predictable yeast,

but were chiseled
by an army
of untainted emotions,
so let
the flavour
speak for itself,

to them
that welcome you
with a blob of butter,
and who know
what a worthy bite
you so lovingly deliver.

    1. Thank you, and am glad you found all those three elements in it! πŸ™‚
P.S. Didn’t realise that ‘worthy’ had entered here too (like most, it was a quick write and post), but maybe it connects that one to this, with both the protagonists being equally ‘worthy’! πŸ˜„πŸ˜‰
