i cross
all your boundaries,
with my pen
like a drunken ant,
not caring
when or where
your rising levels
of exasperation,
may lead you
to stamp out
this greedy ant,

for sugar is sweet
and extremely addictive
and you
so carelessly
scatter those gems around,

the pen maybe blind
but this ant is not,
each grain is divine
this side
of the line,
or on that,
which you keep
out of bounds,

death may be swift
or painful as hell,
but i know
life comes alive
and so do i,
when the ant
manages to steal
another grain fallen
from your
sweet soul sack.

  1. Wow this just so so sweetly deeply beautiful!! You come up with such wonderful metaphors, I admire that truly. Loved the drunken ant instantly at the first mention and the poem progressed so beautifully to the end!

    1. Thank you! 🙂 Glad you noticed the drunken ant, and enjoyed how it followed. I absolutely enjoyed the spontaneity of how it got written in the moment…and how ants keep coming out in different ways! 😂
