you don’t know
the storms
i have faced,
you don’t know
the fears
i have erased,
you may
know me
as what i was,
but don’t
test me
to what i can be,
the essence of fire
is always
the same,
in a lamp
it is light
which burns to give,
in a forest
it’s a a fire
raging its wrath,
undermine
any energy
and you risk its ire,
don’t judge the form
nor
the visible matter,
when lightening falls
it seldom comes
announced,
and the tallest then
crumble
to the ground.

Prescient. Wonderful writing.

“When lightening falls it’s seldom announced”, but when the storm clouds gather (or you’ve listened to the weather forecast):), it would be a foolish person who doesn’t prepare for life’s eventualities, metaphorically speaking!

Very true, one does and should prepare for what can be expected….but sometimes the flood breaks the banks….and then the force of the water seems to have a mind of its own…
