A cauldron
of dreams,
simmers
tonight,

I stir slowly,
and the
crescent moon
stares wide-eyed,

and stars
sprinkle into it,
their own faraway
secret sunshine,

my eyes
on the cauldron,
but the night
sees it in my eyes,

I stir slowly,
and the night sighs,
at other things
that simmer inside,

sometimes dreams
need to be cooked,
to take
the test of time,

tonight
I cook them all,
eagerly awaiting
tomorrow’s sunrise.

  1. Oh! Btw, I tried taking a similar photo the other night, but the moon was a perfect smile in the sky. My phone camera isn’t sharp enough to capture a crescent (is it metaphorical?), and my hand jagged, so I have a moon tail trail. Maybe I’ll post it, anyways. Maybe a poem is coming upon me.

      1. Yeah… But, I had too many thoughts, and too many parts of different poems going on, that I couldn’t focus on just one; and… well…. just dreamed, instead… Ah, that’s the way it goes, sometimes. Maybe I’ll manage to eke them out, if I can manage to straighten it all out… haha
